Glendale Hts. murder case jury recesses until morning

A DuPage County jury deliberated for nearly four hours late Monday in a Glendale Heights murder case without reaching a verdict.

Jurors return this morning to continue their deliberations. DuPage Circuit Judge George Bakalis allowed members to recess at about 10:15 p.m.

Isaias Beltran, 20, of Glendale Heights, is accused of shooting Corey Dale Krueger early Dec. 19 during a random robbery as the 35-year-old sanitation worker walked his dog near his home on the 1200 block of Pleasant Avenue.

Authorities lack a confession or physical evidence directly linking Beltran to the crime. But one of his former friends identified Beltran as the shooter.

Beltran did not testify. If convicted, he faces 20 to 60 years in prison.
