Nationalize banks, energy and airlines
Oil production, refining and distribution; airline collapse; and now mortgage banking and investment.
These major sectors of the American economy are in disarray and total chaos cannot be far behind.
It is time to seriously consider nationalization of these sectors. Eliminating the profit motive (defined as greed) could do much to straighten things out.
I know the government isn't a great manager of its own shop let alone the private sector's, but serious thought and prompt action should be given to reining in the pervasive and profligate private sector greed mind-set.
There is no economic model to support what is happening. The market-driven argument no longer stands up to even the most modest scrutiny.
Let's try doing what other nations do - nationalize energy, airlines, and banking.
It may be our last chance to avoid a chaotic economic future.
