CN needs to do right thing
I find it almost unbelievable the unmitigated gall that the CN, a foreign company, has been showing in their attempt to purchase the EJ&E railroad. Now they want a court to bypass any and all scrutiny about their buying an American company. They're now hoping that they can finesse this situation and make it go away with the blessing of a hopefully friendly court.
This deal is now especially suspect because one of the Daily Herald's front page headlines of Aug. 6 read, "Study gets an 'F.'" This is reference to an impact study report on the EJ&E sale that was highly uncomplimentary in its examination of this deal.
Now, one of today's Daily Herald front page headlines (Aug. 7) reads, and I again quote, 'CN to try courts for EJ&E sale approval.' What crybabies!
Why doesn't CN do the right thing and correct all that's wrong with this situation? I think that CN would find a different attitude surrounding this proposed sale if they would just listen to what the people are saying and what needs to be done in order for the people to feel comfortable with this deal. Until CN does this, they're going to continue to feel the wrath of the people who will be very much affected by their trains.
