Make sure your rep is working for you

Having read the recent article in the Herald about the historically low approval ratings for both Congress and our president I have one thing to say to my fellow Americans:

VOTE THEM OUT.

While we won't have to put up with Bush any longer, it is way past time to get rid of the likes of Kennedy, Durbin, Dole, Pelosi, at the federal level and Madigan, Jones and others at the local level and I could go on. Time to sweep them all out and put some fresh faces into those seats. Perhaps then we might end up with people who will be accountable to the taxpayers and who will, in fact, listen to their constituents first and foremost. Time to end the iron grip that PACs, big business and other special moneyed interests have on our legislature and return control to the people.

It doesn't matter whether you are Republican, Democratic, Independent or fall somewhere in between. Just review the options available for your location and your state and get out and vote. Taxpayers need all the help we can get and the only way to get it is to be an active participant in the election process, so do your research and vote for some new faces. If you like the representative you have, check their voting records to see if they are voting in a manner that is consistent with your needs, you might be surprised at how many are out of touch with their constituents.

Taxpayers and all of our children are counting on us to do the right thing and this year we have the opportunity to put a screeching halt to the thieves that have hijacked this great country and are steadily running it into the ground.
