Harvest Day: RMS Promotions is looking for crafters for an original artist, handmade arts and crafts show to be included in the Fox Valley Park District's "Harvest Day" at Blackberry Farm's Pioneer Village on Sept 14.
The arts and crafts show will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 at Blackberry Farm, 100 S. Barnes Road, Aurora. It will feature artists and crafters from the surrounding area. Each participant must send several photos of their work to be juried into the show. No resale or imported merchandise will be allowed. Park employees will demonstrate how Pioneers prepared corn, apple cider and other old-fashioned foods that early pioneers used. There will be demonstrations of other pioneer skills and hands-on activities. There is an admission fee for the public. If interested, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Kadie O'Connor, 20 S. Hankes Road, Aurora, Il. 60506, along with several photos of craft. Only vendors that create their own products will be allowed into the show.

Autumn Arts & Crafts Show: The Batavia Mothers' Club will host its 23rd annual Autumn Arts & Crafts Show. The show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Mooseheart Fieldhouse, just off I-88 on Route 31 near the North Aurora and Batavia border. The event showcases juried booths of crafters offering handmade items including paintings, drawings, pet accessories, jewelry, dolls and more. Painters and artists specializing in pottery, glass and woodworking are encouraged to apply. A late fee will be charged after the Aug. 18 deadline. The Autumn Arts & Crafts Show is the Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation's largest fundraiser. Proceeds go to organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for families in need in the community.

Craft fair: St. Charles' Episcopal Church, 994 N. Fifth Ave. (Route 25) in St. Charles, is hosting a craft fair on Oct. 25. Additional exhibitors for this juried show are welcome. Only hand crafted-items will be considered. Proceeds from the sale will support outreach activities at Hesed House in Aurora, the church's commitment to St. Barnabas Church in the Sudan, Habitat for Humanity, Lazarus House and other regional and national groups. Holiday in the Halls: St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin will host its annual "Holiday in the Halls" from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at the church, 1625 W. Highland Ave., Elgin. More than 80 booths, raffles, food and refreshments will be available, as well as a bake sale. Admission is free. Applications for crafters are still available. Mistletoe Magic: World Overcomers Church will host its annual craft bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at the church, Route 20 and Naperville Road, Bartlett. In addition to the crafters and artists, there will be vendors, bake sale, raffle, lunch, free parking and more. Handmade in Hanover: The Hanover Township Senior Center will host its annual craft show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 14-15 at the senior center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett. There will be more than 40 crafters, food concessions, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Crafters of handmade items, who live in Hanover Township, are invited to participate. Space is limited.
