Briefs: Photo exhibit reception

A reception in honor of the photographers featured in the "These Walls Can Talk" exhibit takes place 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at the Bartlett Village Hall Gallery, 228 S. Main St., 2nd Floor. The public is invited. The Bartlett Historical Society and Arts in Bartlett sponsored the photo exhibit, asking local photographers to submit images of buildings around town that are at least 50 years old. The exhibit is on display through Aug. 29.

Victim's condition improves

A Barrington man who was injured at 11 a.m. Saturday when he crashed his motor scooter on North Union Road was upgraded to serious condition Monday, according to a spokeswoman for Rockford Memorial Hospital. Ronald M. Bransky of 9 Longmeadow Drive lost control of the scooter about one-tenth of a mile south of Hamilton Road in Grafton Township, rolled over several times and ended up in a ditch. He was airlifted to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where he initially was listed in critical condition.
