Photo viewing to raise funds for abuse victims

Professional photographer Michael Jessup has traveled the world capturing images of magnificent landscapes, wildlife in its natural habitat, and scenes of tranquil beauty.

He's seen his photos touch people's souls and bring tears to their eyes.

Jessup hopes a showing of his work from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Distinctive Cork, 192 W. Garner Road, Naperville, will help bring healing and aid to victims of abuse.

"My photography helps people come back to reality, the beauty of it," said the Aurora resident who owns MJ Wild Things Photography. "My photography touches people's hearts."

Jessup said monies raised by work he sells at the event will go to help a victim of abuse within his own family and to the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Literature on abuse will be available at the event. Jessup said he is concerned about all types of abuse whether it's mental, physical, sexual, emotional or financial.

Admission is free. Wine and food will be for sale.

All of Jessup's photography is matted and some is framed. Prices range from $20 to $500, he said.
