Mount Prospect Power fastpitch softball: Tryouts continue Aug. 16. The 12-U and 14-U teams will hold tryouts from noon to 2 p.m. The 16-U and 18-U teams will workout from 2-4 p.m. Tryouts will conclude Aug. 17 (rain date August 23). On Aug. 17, the 16-U and 18-U teams will work from noon to 2 p.m. The younger teams will conduct workouts from 2-4 p.m. Tryouts are at the Prospect High School softball field at Kensington and Forest in Mount Prospect.

Players should register and warm-up a half-hour before their scheduled time. Pitcher and catcher evaluations will take place immediately after the allotted time for each age group. For more information call (847) 577-5282.

Crushers U14 travel baseball tryouts: 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 17 and 23, Highpoint Park,1198 Hermitage Lane, Hoffman Estates. The crushers play a competitive schedule in the Mid-Suburban Baseball League and will play about 50 games for the season. Players cannot turn 15 years old before May 1, 2009.
