Our troops, not pols, are the heroes

We have gone through almost six years of war in the Middle East.

We have lost 4,424 of our men and women who have given their lives for democracy, or should we say oil.

Our troops have been attacked by all tribes of the Sunni and Shiites and even Saudi Arabia sent some of the tribes as they are part of the Sunni tribe.

Our troops do not know who to trust and are not getting any help from the Iraqi army, which sells its equipment to the enemy.

Bush opened a bee hive when he attacked Iraq instead of Afghanistan. Now our troops are being killed in Afghanistan because they got stronger. We have idiots in the White House, and that goes for Cheney, too.

If we left politics out of the service and let the generals run the war, it would have been finished.

But when you get idiots who try to tell generals who have gone through the academy what to do and you yourself in the White House are draft dodgers, you cannot win the war.

We have John McCain who says we'll be there for 50 to 100 years. He doesn't know history. The Sunnis and the Shiites have been fighting for the past 5,000 years, so says the Bible. It's about time we support our troops and say let's bring them home.

We have talked to some of our soldiers returning on leave, and We ask them what they talk about in the tent. Some said girls and wives.

We asked them if there were any worries there. They asked will they have benefits when we get home. Another said he can finish college and the third asks will he have a job and the fourth was worried about the foreclosure, where do their families go?

These are fighting men and worried on all these issues. We say 100 percent benefits. They should be able to finish college and we should be able to find jobs that suit them and to stop these mortgage companies who are foreclosing, to protect our troops serving and protecting us. And they should get a card to allow them to go to any hospital in their area and not have to travel 150 to 200 miles to a VA hospital.

Let's help them. They're helping us by serving their country.
