Voters should turn to a third party
This is in response to Kent Scheilke's letter "Not happy with Obama or McCain" in the Aug. 5 Fence Post.
His assertions that "either of our choices" and "not allowed to vote for none of the above" are both misguided and dangerously flawed. In today's political landscape, where the only difference between the corporate-controlled Democrats and Republicans is the speed at which we will retreat from Iraq, we need to be aware that there are other choices and it is vitally important that we do vote for "none of the above". With the mainstream media, including the Daily Herald, ignoring third party candidates such as Ralph Nader or the Libertarians, we have to send a message to the people who control this country; not you or I but the politicians in Washington.
Enough is enough. Now is our time America. If we cannot decide between the main parties we must absolutely vote for a third party candidate. This is the only way we the people can convey our message that the corporate duopoly must end in Washington and we are reclaiming control of our government.
