Motorola wins $431 million China network deal

Motorola Inc., the largest U.S. mobile-phone maker, said it won several contracts valued at $431 million to upgrade and expand a China Mobile Communications Corp. wireless network.

Motorola, based in Schaumburg, will work on the global system for mobile communications, or GSM, networks of China Mobile to improve coverage and allow the company to operate the system more effectively, Motorola said in a PR Newswire statement today.
