Men's Flag football: The Northfield Football League, a premiere adult men's flag football league, is searching for teams and players for the upcoming fall season. Games are played on Sunday mornings in the Schiller Park area on Irving Park Road between Cumberland and River Road. Golf Nation clinics: Adult clinics, Ladies Only clinics and Short Game schools begin this month. Todd Sones Impact Golf, recently ranked fourth Best School in America by Golf Magazine provides the instruction at Golf Nation, 399 N. Quentin Road, Palatine. Sessions are held throughout the Golf Nation's Club including the outdoor range and new Scoring Zone short game area. Golf League: The Survivors, a men's Wednesday evening golf league, is looking for a few players. Meets at Arlington Lakes Golf Course, This is a low-key/light-competition league and invites players of all levels of ability. Current ages in the league are from the mid 20s to the 70s. Storm soccer camps: The Chicago Storm holds weeklong soccer camps throughout the Chicago area from through Aug. 18. Each camper receives a soccer ball, official camp T-shirt, certificate of participation and a ticket to a Chicago Storm match during the 2008-09 season. Summer Sizzle Softball Tournament: Aug. 2; Heritage Park, 222 S. Wolf Road, Wheeling. Men's 16-inch tournament and men's 12-inch tournament is planned for those 18 years of age and older. Chicago Shamrox Hot Rox Dance Team auditions: 8:15 a.m. Aug. 9, Holiday Inn Northwest, Elgin. The auditions will have two rounds. Girls advancing past the first round of tryouts will perform in front of a live studio audience and be judged by a panel of celebrity judges. Fill out an application, submit at least one photo and a $25 audition fee. Girls must be at least 18 as of Aug. 1. "Nutcracker" auditions: Open call Aug. 10 and 13 at Midwest Dance Arts, 1141 S. Arlington Heights Road, Unit B, Arlington Heights. Dancers and gymnasts are sought, as well as a few vocalists. All parts available for ages 6 through adult, both male and female. Senior citizens are welcome. Come dressed in appropriate form-fitting dance attire with proper dance shoes. Pointe is a plus.
