Kendrigan Field up for award

A Buffalo Grove Park District facility is under consideration for the Governor's Hometown Award. Representatives from the awards committee will be at Kendrigan Field on Aug. 6 to judge its validity for the award. The annual award, which is administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, recognizes efforts that contribute to the overall quality of life in a town. The park district installed Kendrigan Field, at Twin Creeks Park, for special-needs baseball players; the surface allows the use of wheelchairs. Representatives of the park district will be giving a presentation on the field and its uses for the Home Town judges next week.
