Teddy Bear Picnic: 11:15 a.m., July 30, Wauconda Area Library, 801 N. Main St., Wauconda. After a concert by singer and musician Kathleen Gibson, children and bears will parade through the library, followed by lunch at noon. Kids bike and run: 9 a.m. Aug. 2 at Sunset Woods Park, 1801 Sunset Road, Highland Park. Open to ages 5-12. The distance for children ages 5 to 8 will be 0.9 miles for biking and 0.3 miles for running. For children ages 9 and 10, the biking distance will be 1.8 miles, and the running distance will be 0.6 miles. Registration is $10 the day of the event.
