Van confiscated from home of father of slain Addison girl

Chicago police confiscated a van this morning from the home of Richard Lyons, whose nine-year-old daughter was found stabbed to death last week in an alley behind his home.

Police spokeswoman Antoinette Ursitti confirmed the van was taken into custody as part the ongoing investigation into Mya Lyons' death, but she would not confirm the owner of the van.

Family members reached today outside Lyons' home on the 8400 block of South Gilbert Court declined to talk to reporters.

Police say Lyons found Mya, who lived with her mother in Addison but spent much of her summers with her father in Chicago, lying in the alley about 11 p.m. on July 14. She had been stabbed several times.

Police continue to interview friends and family members but say they have no suspects at this time.

Family members have given DNA samples to police and Richard Lyons submitted to a polygraph test on Thursday, ABC 7 reported.

Mya was an honor role student at G. Stanley Hall in Glendale Heights.
