Roselle police lines down; 911 calls rerouted to Itasca
Residents living within the village limits of Roselle are being asked to call the Itasca police department for nonemergency calls today while vendors work to restore phone service to the Roselle police station.
The Roselle Police 911 communication center lost all phone lines at 5:30 a.m. today.
Emergency 911 calls are being automatically transferred to the Itasca police department, where Roselle has sent its dispatcher to work during the outage, according to police spokesman Sgt. John Lawson.
Roselle residents who need to reach the police department on nonemergency issues should call Itasca at (630) 773-1004. The outage does not affect residents of unincorporated areas.
Lawson said two phone vendors, including AT&T, are on-site today to fix the outage and find out why it occurred. Emergency calls are automatically routed to Itasca in outages, he said.
