Microchip your pet July 26

Loving Care Animal Clinic, 2633 Kirchoff Road, in Rolling Meadows is holding their bi-annual "Microchip Your Pet Day" on July 26. Pets are safely identified with a tiny microchip that gets injected under their skin. This chip, with a one of a kind identification number, can easily be scanned by animal shelters, police departments or animal clinics and the pet's identity will be made known after a phone call is made to the 24 hour hotline. Moonlight and Music Wednesday July 30th

The Rolling Meadows Senior Center will host its "Moonlight and Music" event July 30 at Park Central, 3000 Central Road, across from the Rolling Meadows High School tennis courts. Doors open at 6 p.m.; performance is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and picnic supper or snacks. The Sun City Concert Band under the direction of Donna Bressler, will feature music with a patriotic theme. The fee for this event is $4, and includes popcorn, iced tea and lemonade. Kids can see how police, firemen work

The Mount Prospect police and fire departments will co-host a free one-day children's safety academy from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 31 at the public safety building, 112 E. Northwest Hwy. The event is open to the first 20 8- and 9-year-old Mount Prospect residents who are registered. Children will have the opportunity to tour the police and fire headquarters, receive hands-on experience with tools of fire and crime fighting, search for fingerprints, wear protective gear of a firefighter, and learn about safety. Elks to hold free orthopedic clinic

The Des Plaines Elks Lodge 1526 and Schaumburg-Elk Grove Elks Lodge 2423 in cooperation with the Illinois Elks Children's Care Program will hold a free children's orthopedic diagnostic clinic for children without health insurance from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m Aug. 7 at Northwest orthopedic Surgery Associates, 1120 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. children will be seen by appointment only. The clinic is for ages birth to 21 years, and ideal for children with foot problems, or those that complain of leg, hip, shoulder, arm or back pain.
