Change we need would fix mistakes

The Founding Fathers gave us the best form of government known to civilization.

Many changes have been made since 1776, but not all have been for the better.

Approval of the president is at an all-time low and Congress fairs even worse.

This does not speak well for a government that is by the people and for the people.

Change we can believe in is a nice campaign slogan but we need changes that are necessary to correct mistakes of the past.

The wars in Vietnam and Iraq are the major errors and so is the Commodity Act of 2000.

The latter should be modified or repealed. We do not need war with Iran nor do we need to speculators messing up the market.

Currently gas is costing us over $4 per gallon and climbing.

Supply and demand would set the price if there were a free market for oil, but speculators cause swings of over $10 per barrel in one day.

The Israel war games and Iran talking about mining the Strait of Hormuz aggravate the situation.

If there is war with Iran, think of gas in the range of $12 gallon if it can be found. Osama bin Laden must be smiling.

The GWB administration pushed a $400 million covert activity project against Iran through Congress.

Covert dirty tricks and torture are counterproductive.

War hawks love to play the appeasement card but it is not a valid argument.

Honest diplomatic negotiations will restore respectability for the U.S.A. We have tremendous economic channels through China and Russia if we were to use them.

Unless there is prompt action to prevent the GWB administration from starting a war with Iran, Obama may never have a chance to make changes we can believe in.

We should immediately get behind Jim Baker and make it impossible for the president to start a war without approval of Congress.

We should also stop the covert activity in Iran and withdraw the mercenaries from Iraq. Individuals should contact their representatives, dump gas-guzzlers and stop speeding
