Obama has the best judgment on the war
Sen. McCain keeps trying to tell us that Sen. Obama's judgment is poor because he opposed the surge. However:
1. There is no way of knowing what would have happened if we had pulled out pre-surge. Tribal leaders were already in charge and the ethnic sects had been largely separated.
2. The Iraqi leaders want a timetable for withdrawal, a move McCain still opposes.
3. President Bush is now sending a senior officer to Iran to negotiate, a move which Obama suggested and McCain opposed.
4. Obama said we should concentrate on Afghanistan from the start, while McCain pushed for invading Iraq.
I'll take Obama's judgment over McCain's any day.
