Chicago area needs more mass transit

Anyone who lives and commutes in the area knows that Chicagoland is long overdue for an increase in public transportation.

Gas prices are rising with no end in sight and our roadways are crammed with cars that pollute the environment.

This is why I was glad to participate in Congressman Roskam's conference call with the public.

Roskam let me know he strongly supports increasing our access to mass transit through the suburb-to-suburb STAR rail line.

He also told me he introduced legislation to allow local companies to receive tax credits when they pay for their employees mass transit use.

Roskam seems to get it. I am glad we have a strong advocate of our local concerns in Washington.
