Point on fireworks was misunderstood
Ok. Ok. Julie Bohannon here. I never said illegal fireworks were OK.
I simply made a statement, "The 4th of July is what it is."
And Kevin of Buffalo Grove, I agree that freedom comes with responsibility. Responsibility to carry car and property insurance and responsibility to follow the law. I never said different.
David of Hanover Park, I don't feel Richard deserved the press his story received because to own a vehicle worth $50,000 and not carry insurance on it is just nonsense.
Just how beloved is a car that you don't care enough about to insure and are careless enough to leave the top off of on the 4th?
Chances are taken every time anyone goes to a legal fireworks display. Hence my comment that we all take risks.
Did you read about what happened to the people in Iowa at their legal fireworks display? Which brings me back my original statement, "The 4th of July is what it is."
