10th District isn't buying it any more

I feel I must respond to Brad Goodman's recent submission in which he characterizes Mark Kirk as an "independent reformer" when nothing could be further from the truth.

Kirk has been nothing but a Bush and Cheney lap dog during these last eight years.

Rubber stamping the illegal and immoral war in Iraq, siding with corporate special interests like Haliburton and Blackwater, fear mongering to the very important North Shore Jewish vote and siding with Big Oil are among Kirk's lap dog tricks.

All the while he is unresponsive to his constituency. Ever try to write, call or e-mail him? Don't take my word for it, try contacting Kirk yourself.

You will be lucky to get a form letter. He's even snubbed waiting Iraq war veterans.

Now that it's election time, Kirk is distancing himself from Bush as everybody knows that ship is going down.

But Dan Seals has Kirk on the ropes. The Republican spin machine knows it. Expect the usual "dirty tricks gang" to dish their dirt. But you know what?

The 10th congressional district isn't buying it anymore.

Look around at the mess that Kirk has been only too happy to make.

Then send Seals in there to clean it up. Dan has the understanding, skill and fortitude to take on big issues like the environment, health care, Iraq, fuel costs, education, stem cell research, and supporting Israel.
