Herald editorial inhibits free speech

The Daily Herald's editorial of June 13th ("Now Democrats are hurting themselves") advocating suppression of free speech and ignoring alleged political corruption is a matter of grave concern.

The Herald states it is "wiser political strategy" to cover up supposed corruption rather than investigate. The editorial writer prefers the preceding party's example of ignoring problems rather than open debate and informed public discourse.

The writer continues the editorial with the totalitarian statement that a presidential candidate, who "is supposed be ready to run the nation... can't exert any discipline or control over" friends and individuals.

Does the Daily Herald believe in free speech or just lip service to our constitution? What country do we live in? The old USSR? Saddam Hussein's Iraq?

What really bothers me most, after reading the paper, either no one has written a rebuttal to this outlandish editorial or the Daily Herald is guilty of censorship. Both answers are frightening.
