District 129 appoints new principal to Greeman School

Greenman Elementary School in Aurora has a new principal.

The West Aurora school board has appointed Kristine Webster to the post. She has been a fifth-grade teacher in Batavia since 2000, most recently at Louise White Elementary, and has a doctorate in education from Aurora University.

Webster replaces Erin Slater, who is now the District 129's elementary education director.

At the Aug. 4 school board meeting, Superintendent Jim Rydland will recommend appointing Eric Benson to be the new principal of Goodwin Elementary in North Aurora.

For the past year, Benson has been a dean at West Aurora High School. He replaces Dave Brusak, who has left the district.
