1 slightly hurt in Schaumburg crash
A 67-year-old Hoffman Estates man was treated for minor injuries and released Thursday morning after being ejected from his car when it was struck by one that ran a red light in Schaumburg.
The collision occurred at about 10:30 a.m. at Higgins and Salem roads.
Schaumburg police officer Mark Eschel said witnesses said a vehicle eastbound on Higgins Road drove through a red light and struck a vehicle driven by the Hoffman Estates man northbound on Salem Road and turning right onto eastbound Higgins.
The Hoffman Estates driver was ejected out his driver's side door, Eschel said.
No tickets had yet been issued by early Thursday afternoon as the investigation continues. Police are considering issuing a citation to the other driver for disobeying a traffic signal, Eschel said.
