Police await toxicology report in Prospect Heights death

Prospect Heights Police Chief Bruce Morris said Tuesday his department is awaiting toxicology reports, which could take up to six weeks, before saying anything more about the death of Mount Prospect resident Gina Dominick, 20.

Her body was found in a car in the Prospect Heights Library parking lot on June 29.

Police have served a search warrant on a Prospect Heights house that's located about two blocks away from the library.

Police have labeled the inquiry a death investigation and haven't said how Dominick died. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has said that the cause of death is open pending the police investigation.

Dominick graduated from St. Raymond Elementary School in Mount Prospect in 2002. She is a 2006 graduate of Prospect High School, according to Township High School District 214.

Dominick worked at various pizza places as a manager and a waitress since graduating. She also volunteered at an animal shelter on the weekends, according to her friends.

She had completed a year at Harper Junior College in Palatine and intended to go back this fall.
