The Disaster Recovery Center will operate through July 12 at the old Lions Club, 23 South St. It'll be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Flooding victims should first register by calling the Federal Emergency Management Agency at (800) 621-3362. More information about disaster relief is available at www.sba.gov or by calling the U.S. Small Business Administration at (800) 659-2955.

Sunrise train funded

The early morning reverse commute train known as the Sunrise Express will be funded for a second year. The service on Metra's Union Pacific North line leaves Waukegan at 4:20 a.m., allowing county residents to be at work in Chicago by 7 a.m. In announcing the funding Monday, state Sen. Susan Garrett of Lake Forest said it provides an important option for commuters faced with high gas prices and road work. Ridership has risen to about 275 daily commuters compared with 70 commuters a year ago. Cost of the service is about $340,000, which will be split by Metra and the RTA, which secured a federal grant for its portion.
