Arlington Heights

A purse that contained a wallet, cell phone and MP3 player was taken out of a 2005 Nissan Altima at a park on the 1900 block of North Kennicott Drive between 3:30 and 5 p.m. June 27. A loss estimate was not available.

Vandals hit a home on the 500 block of East Sunset Drive around 2 a.m. on June 29 _ smashing windows on a 2004 Ford Explorer, denting the mailbox and breaking two driveway lamp posts Police said a neighbor saw a van pull away and drive south on Sunset. A damage estimate was not available.

Keith I. Campbell, 51, 9 S. Dunton Ave., Apt. 2C, Arlington Heights, was arrested June 27 at the Metra depot, 45 W. Northwest Hwy., and charged with consumption of alcohol on railroad property. His court date wis July 30.

Des Plaines

Two men and a woman stole two MP3 players from Radio Shack, 1191 S. Elmhurst Road, around 11:45 a.m. June 30. Police said the thief ran from the store with the players, jumped into a white van and crawled to the rear while a woman took his place in the front passenger's seat and a male accomplice drove the van onto eastbound I-90. An officer saw the van but lost it in the traffic in a construction zone. The loss was estimated at $250.

Around $75,000 in tools and equipment were stolen from a garage on the 1400 block of Riverview Avenue between 3:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. June 30. Police said the garage service door was forced open and a black landscape trailer was stolen, containing, among other things two power washers, a lawn mower, drill press, welding unit, an hydraulic lift, gas diagnostic computer, 1,000-pound engine standand cabinets.

A 1999 Toyota Camry on the 600 block of North Wolf Road was broken into and a cell phone and digital camera stolen between 1:30 and 1:55 p.m. June 30. The loss was estimated at $650.

A purse was stolen out of a 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan on the 1300 block of Shagbark Drive overnight June 29-30. There was no sign of forced entry;and the loss was estimated at $246.

Elk Grove Village

Kevin J. Woods, 21, 210 Walnut Lane, Elk Grove Village, was arrested June 22 at 550 Sycamore Drive and charged with obstructing a peace officer. His court date is Aug. 4.

Tyler J. Sellergren, 23, 780 Michigan Lane, Elk Grove Village, was arrested June 23 at 600 Meacham Road and charged with theft. His court date is Aug. 4.

Burglars broke into a storage garage at Crafts Technology, 91 Joey Drive, and stole several pieces of machinery and barrels of scrap worth about $33,000 altogether, between June 20 and 23.

A 1996 Chrysler Sebring worth about $1,700 was stolen from a parking lot on the 600 block of Grove Terrace between June 19 and 23. At the same time and place, a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada was vandalized; damage was estimated at $500.

A 1996 Toyota Camry on the 300 block of Trowbridge Road was vandalized between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. June 23. Damage was estimated at $300.

Two tires were stolen from a 2006 Vanguard semitrailer in a business lot on the 1500 block of Brummel Avenue between 7:30 p.m. June 23 and 5:45 a.m. June 24. The loss was estimated at $800.

A 2005 Chrysler Pacifica on the 800 block of Wellington Avenue was broken into and a a GPS unit stolen between 8 p.m. June 23 and 11:30 a.m. June 24. The total loss was estimated at $400.

A 2000 Cadillac Escalade on the 1800 block of Vermont Drive was vandalized overnight June 23-24. Damage was estimated at $2,000.

A tire was stolen off a semitrailer on the 2400 block of Delta Lane between 5 p.m. June 25 and 7:30 a.m. June 26. The loss was estimated at $400.

A man was discovered inside a warehouse at 2971 Old Higgins Road around 4 p.m. June 26; he grabbed a pallet monitor worth about $600 and left in a van.

The patio door at Tapalpa Mexican Restaurant, 770 S. Arlington Heights Road, was vandalized around 1:15 a.m. June 27 but nothing appeared to be missing. Damage was estimated at $600.

Mount Prospect

A construction site at 1660 Wall St. was hit by a wave of thefts and vandalism in late June. A storage trailer on the property was broken into between June 28-30 and a compactor, concrete saw and elevation laser stolen; the damage and theft were estimated at $6,300. At the same time, rocks were thrown that broke five double-pane windows on the building under construction, doing about $1,750 in damage. On previous days other windows were broken and a fire was started inside the building; a second fire was started in the building at 1780 Wall St.

Bartlett

Burglars broke into a storage trailer belonging to Design Plumbing, 31W377 Spaulding Road, June 27 and stole copper couplings, tees and caps. The loss was estimated at $3,000.

Federico Raygoza Jr., 27, 419 Perrie Drive, Elk Grove Village, was arrested June 17 at Lake Street and North Bartlett Road and charged with possession of marijuana and driving under the influence. His court date is Aug. 6.

Charles J. Opperman, 18, 562 Illini Drive, Carol Stream, was arrested June 23 at Main Street and Devon Avenue and charged with possession of alcohol by a minor. His court date is July 28.

Burglars damaged a steel door and stole 40 feet of copper pipe out of a warehouse under construction at 1570 Hecht Court June 23. Value was estimated at $1,500.

Justin J. Holmstrom, 20, 957 Tallgrass Drive, Bartlett, was arrested June 23 on the 1000 block of Concord Drive and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. His court date is July 8. Charged with possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor: were Alanna Mueller, 17, 1016 Concord Drive, Bartlett; Myles Griffin, 18, 863 Bryn Mawr Ave., Bartlett; Kelly A. Tuggle, 18, 125 Plymouth Court, Bartlett; and a 16-year-old boy. Tuggle also was charged with possession of marijuana. Their court date is July 9.

Burglars broke into a storage unit at the Triumph Development construction site at Munger Road and Schiferl Drive overnight June 19-20 and stole 12,000 feet of electrical wire, scrap wire, two power generators and two 5-gallon cans of gasoline. They also cut the copper lines from the front of the building, allowing the water to run all night. The total loss was estimated at $4,580.

Pierre B. Harris, 24, 2234 Sandpiper Court, Bartlett, was arrested June 26 on the 200 block of South Main Street and charged with felony failure to register as a sex offender. A court date was not available.

Deer Park

A mailbox and post worth $400 were stolen from a home on the 20600 block of Meadow Lane June 22.

Hanover Park

A red 2002 Dodge sedan (plate number: C84 7348) was stolen from the 600 block of Wilson around 8:30 p.m. June 30. A value estimate was not available.

A backpack, two laptop computers and an MP3 player were stolen out of a vehicle on the 6700 block of Barrington Road around 1:30 p.m. June 27. A value estimate was not available.

Juan Dorado, 18, 228 Ridgestone, Poplar Grove, was arrested June 27 at County Farm Road and Stairway Drive and charged with possession of marijuana. A court date was not available.

Monica N. Brozell, 29, 5325 Garbo Lane, Hanover Park, was arrested June 26 at 1832 Army Trail Road and charged with unlawful use of a credit card and theft of mislaid property. A court date was not available.

Michelle L. Simmons, 27, 2071 Elm, Hanover Park, was arrested June 26 on the 1900 block of Lake Street and charged with battery. A court date was not available.

Hoffman Estates

A $1,200 laptop computer was stolen from Siemens, 2501 N. Barrington Road, between 3:20 p.m. June 27 and 5:30 a.m. June 30.

Four aluminum extension ladders, a fiberglass step ladder and an 8-foot cable were stolen out of a garage at a construction site on the 1600 block of Hickory Drive between 3 p.m. June 27 and 6:30 a.m. June 30. The loss was estimated at $1,130.

Schaumburg

Adam John Syverson, 18, 921 Vineland Court, Chanassen, Minn., was arrested June 27 and charged with retail theft from JCPenney in Woodfield Mall. His court date is July 28.

Charles Ray Toliver III, 20, 1706 Winchester Lane, Schaumburg, was arrested June 26 near Schaumburg Road and Carver Lane and charged with battery. His court date is July 23.

Vadim V. Chepis, 24, 2290 W. Nichols Road, Apt. E, Arlington Heights, was arrested around 12:05 a.m. June 29 and charged with criminal damage to property after police say he broke the rear antenna off a squad car outside a restaurant on the 600 block of East Golf Road. His court date is July 28.

Unique C. Anderson, 21, 6850 S. Ridgeland Ave., Chicago, was arrested around 1:40 a.m. June 29 and charged with battery after police said she threw a beer bottle inside a restaurant on the 1100 block of American Lane that broke a man's tooth and cut his lip. Her court date is Aug. 11.

A 1998 Toyota pickup truck on the 1800 block of East Golf Road was broken into and a GPS unit and MP3 player and charger were stolen between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. June 26. The total loss was estimated at $1,350.

Streamwood

A 2002 Honda on the 0-100 block of Prairie Point Lane was vandalized overnight June 26-27. A damage estimate was not available.

Two 32-inch LCD TVs were stolen from Target, 1001 S. Sutton Road, around 9:45 a.m. June 26. A man was seen on a security videotape wheeling a shopping cart with the TVs out of the store and loading them into the bed of a green pickup truck that an accomplice pulled up to the front of the store. The truck went east on Irving Park Road. The loss was estimated at $1,300.

A 2000 Toyota Camry on the 600 block of Maple Drive was broken into and a GPS unit stolen between 12:01 and 10:30 a.m. June 28. A value estimate was not available.

Two men and a woman stole three eyeglass frames worth $315 altogether from a store at 75 S. Sutton Road around 1 p.m. June 26. Similar thefts have occurred at other stores; in this case the woman distracted the clerk with questions while the two men took the frames.

Jose L. Garcia, 17, 103 Chapel, Elgin, was arrested June 26 at the police department, 401 E. Irving Park Road, and charged with criminal damage to property after an officer discovered that Garcia, who was in a holding cell for a stolen auto investigation, had scratched gang graffiti inside the cell. A court date was not available.

Two playgrounds at Woodland Heights School, 900 S. Park Blvd., were vandalized by graffiti June 23 or 24. A damage estimate was not available.
