Crystal Lake woman charged with firing shot over husband's head
A 47-year-old Crystal Lake woman appeared in McHenry County court Thursday, charged with firing a bullet over her husband's head during an argument late Wednesday night.
Tina L. Edinger, 4518 David Lane, is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm in connection. Authorities say she put a bullet hole in the ceiling of the couple's basement.
"She threatened him with a pistol and then fired one shot over his head," McHenry County Sheriff's Lt. John Miller said Thursday. "It was in his direction, but we don't believe she was attempting to kill him."
Sheriff's deputies responding to a call at the couple's home about 11 p.m. Wednesday arrested Edinger and transported her the McHenry County jail where she spent the night. After appearing before a judge Thursday morning, Edinger posted a $6,000 bond to go free pending a July 10 court date.
The charge against her is a Class 1 felony, punishable by a maximum four to 15 years in prison. She is also charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition without a valid firearm owner's identification card. Both of those charges are misdemeanors.
