Briefs: Ogden bridge work slated

Work to replace the Ogden Avenue Bridge over the West Branch of the DuPage River in Naperville is set to begin Monday and last until about November. During all stages of construction, Ogden Avenue will remain open but be reduced at the bridge to one lane in each direction. Commuters should expect delays and are being encouraged to plan alternate routes. The bridge is a quarter-mile east of River Road. The existing bridge was determined by the Illinois Department of Transportation to be in need of replacement to address structural deficiencies.

The township board appointed Richard Kaske as her replacement. Peters, 71, was first elected to the position in 1998. Kaske would need to run for re-election in 2009 to keep his seat.
