Briefs: Bog breaks free
A 5-acre bog broke free on the Chain O' Lakes near Fox Lake early Thursday and became wedged underneath the Grass Lake bridge, officials said. The bog was removed later in the morning and temporarily moved to the northwest corner of the lake, Fox Waterway Agency officials said. Similar bogs have broken free in the area because of high water and fast-moving currents.
