Democrats block energy solutions

The Democrats seem obsessed with America's image and how America is viewed by the rest of the world. Unfortunately their solution is generally to attack America and try to knock us down to size.

If I were in Europe or some other country I, too, would be upset with America. We refuse to drill for our own oil and use our own resources yet we call on the rest of the world to increase their production. That seems pretty hypocritical to me. We also are leaving an abundance of untapped resources, causing higher fuel prices. In Colorado alone we have more oil than all the Middle East put together yet we refuse to drill for it. By not drilling we are limiting the supply of oil and causing higher fuel prices, not just for ourselves but for the rest of the world as well.

Rather than attacking our country, how we live, and attacking us and trying to knock us down to size maybe the Democrats should stop trying to block every effort made to make us an energy independent country. Since they have taken over in Congress gas prices have jumped from $2.10 to over $4. The Democrats next plan is to nationalize the oil companies. The government does such a good job running programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid I'm sure they'd do an equally great job with the oil industry.

Experience does not equal expertise

John McCain constantly talks about his great experience in foreign affairs. Even with this alleged experience he confuses Sunni with Shiite and tries to place Sunni al Qaida in Shia Iran.

He proves the point that experience does not mean expertise.

We have all worked with people who claim to have 20 years of experience only to learn that they have one year of experience 20 times.

John McCain should stop trying to get to the presidency on the basis of who has lived in Washington the longest.ˆ
