At least Birkett talks a good game
I read with interest the Daily Herald article on Joe Birkett ramping up for yet another run at state office. Illinois needs someone who talks a good law and order game, and you've got to like his resilience.
A month ago, Joe's son was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.ˆ While his son's offense was handled with a Naperville city ordinance citation, his two companions face state charges for the same offense.
I think this shows we will have a candidate who can work with all levels of government to make things happen. Or not happen, if necessary.
As long as you're not so careless as to get between Joe Birkett and a news camera, what's not to like?
