Cougars lose big; Flyers win
After winning three straight while outscoring their opposition 18-7, the Kane County Cougars lost 8-0 to the Clinton LumberKings before 6,729 at Elfstrom Stadium. The Cougars' offense generated 5 hits and struck out 11 times, 10 against Clinton starter Neftali Feliz (6-2).
Second baseman Bo Hart returned to action against the host Gary RailCats, hitting a home run to lead off the ninth inning to give the Schaumburg Flyers a 4-3 victory. It was the Flyers' first win in the last nine games against Gary.
