McHenry Co. man dies a week after fight with son
The McHenry County man who last week fell down a flight of 20 stairs during an altercation with his son has died from his injuries, officials said Thursday.
Frank Glusic, 56, of Prairie Grove, was pronounced dead Tuesday at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, where he had been since the June 8 fall left him with a fractured skull and severe brain injuries.
Preliminary autopsy results determined the cause of death to be blunt force head trauma, the McHenry County Coroner's office said.
Authorities said Glusic suffered the injuries when he either fell or was pushed down stairs while trying to prevent his 20-year-old son from leaving home.

His son, Christopher Glusic, was arrested that night and charged with aggravated domestic battery, accused of causing the fall. But county prosecutors dismissed the charge two days later, saying there needed to be more investigation.
He also was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery for an earlier confrontation with his father that night and resisting arrest for fighting with police officers responding to the incident.
The younger Glusic posted bond in those cases Tuesday, and there are no immediate plans to re-arrest him now that his father died, Prairie Grove Police Chief John Sosnowski said.
"We're going to gather information from the coroner's office and the McHenry County Sheriff's office, which assisted our investigation," Sosnowski said. "We'll present it all to the McHenry County State's Attorney and go from there."
Although investigators are still determining the exact circumstances of the fall, Frank Glusic's wife, in court documents filed last week, places blame squarely on her son.
In a petition for an order of protection from Christopher Glusic, Donna Glusic writes that the 20-year-old "with great force" pushed his father down the stairway, causing the fatal injuries.
