Naperville man wins settlement
A Naperville man injured in 2003 when a school bus hit a car in which he was a passenger will get $2.8 million in a settlement, his lawyers say. Tristan Wells, who was a 16-year-old Downers Grove North student at the time, was a passenger in a car struck while entering the Route 83 entrance ramp from 55th Street in Hinsdale by a school bus carrying Downers Grove South gymnasts, according to the Clifford Law Offices. Wells suffered extensive injuries that prevent him from steady employment, his lawyers said. Laidlaw Transit Inc. and the bus driver agreed to pay him $2.75 million, while the driver of his car will pay $50,000.
