Give input at public forum
The state's current economic, work force and education needs will be the subject of a public forum organized by the Illinois Board of Higher Education and the National Center for Education Management Systems. The forum will be held Wednesday at the College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake, in room C003. From 10 a.m. to noon, there will be a discussion of work force needs with community leaders, employers, healthcare professionals, business and labor representatives. Car display Wednesday
Live music and car displays will be part of MainStreet Libertyville's Car Fun on 21, scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday on Church Street between Milwaukee and Brainerd. Admission is free.
Reception for Clough
Libertyville-Vernon Hills Area High School District 128 residents and students can attend a reception for outgoing Superintendent David Clough on June 23. Clough, who is retiring, will be feted from 6 to 7 p.m. at Vernon Hills High School, 145 N. Lakeview Parkway.
Free meals for disabled
Free meals will be available from June 23 to Aug. 8 to all children 18 and under, and to persons over 18 who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled through the USDA Summer Food Program. Operated by the Housing Authority of Lake County, the meals will be available at the Marion Jones Townhomes, 1401 Sherman Ave., North Chicago. Call ( 847) 473-4712.
