Global warming must be solved

As a teacher living in Schaumburg, I have been disappointed about how silent Rep. Melissa Bean and candidate Steve Greeenberg have been on the problem of global warming.

Climate change is happening, humans are to blame and it's time to start making changes.

Melissa Bean and Steve Greenberg have made many promises this campaign season. Unfortunately, both fail to propose what they will do about our current environmental crisis.

As the world's biggest polluter, the U.S. has a responsibility to substantially reduce the amount of global warming pollution we dumb into the atmosphere.

Already people here in the Northwest suburbs are taking action. Just a week ago, in Barrington, I and other concerned citizens got together for a local kick off event for Greenpeace's Project Hotseat.

We wrote letters, made phone calls and even created a photo petition in an effort to get our voices heard.

We need our leaders in Congress to make global warming a priority.

I'd like to hear more about how they intend to protect the health of our community and its people. I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one.
