Scott Atay, son of Lynn Atay Andrew of Hoffman Estates, graduated from Creighton University Medical School, May 10, and will begin his surgical residency in Boston at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard University teaching hospital. Atay is a 1999 graduate of William Fremd High School.
The College of Agricultural & Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, announced that Amy Elizabeth Dejong, Barrington Community High School, was awarded the Charles Eckburg Memorial Freshman Award and the Ferdinand Plaenert New Freshmen Excellence Award for the 2008-09 academic year.
Katherine J. Calhoun, daughter of Michael and Cynthia Calhoun of Barrington, was named to the spring's dean's list for academic achievement at Bucknell University, Leedsburg, Pa. Calhoun is a 2005 graduate of William Fremd High School, Palatine,
Ray Green, son of Dennis and Bonnie Green of Schaumburg, was named to the dean's list for the winter 2008 quarter at DePaul University.
Green, a sophomore, is pursuing a degree in advertising. He is a 2006 graduate
of Schaumburg High School.
Sheiva Jahanban of South Barrington graduated cum laude from Lake Forest College with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and anthropology. Jahanban is a graduate of Hoffman Estates High School.
Sarah Jones, daughter of Bob and Karen Jones of Palatine, received the Panther Scholar Athlete Honors 2007 Award for Women's Swimming, for a high grade point average at Eastern Illinois University.
Nicholas R. Marks, son of Randall and Mary Marks of Barrington, was named to the spring's dean's list for academic achievement at Bucknell University, Leedsburg, Pa.
Brian Money of Hoffman Estates has completed the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University, Downers Grove, in May. Money, the son of Douglas and Kathleen Money of Hoffman Estates, plans to complete a residency in pediatrics at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge.
Rachael Pasdo of Hoffman Estates graduated magna cum laude from Lake Forest College with a bachelor of arts degree in communication and Spanish. Pasdo is a graduate of William Fremd High School, Palatine.
Stephen Ptak, son of Michael and Cindy Ptak of Streamwood, graduated with a bachelor of science degree in geography, with a concentration in urban and economic planning, from Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, May 17. Ptak is a 2004 graduate of Streamwood High School.
Brian Rojek of Schaumburg completed the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University, Downers Grove, in May. Rojek, the son of Kenneth and Carol Rojek of Big Rock, plans to complete a residency in anesthesiology at Loyola University Medical Center.
Christina E. Savino, daughter of Anthony and Patrice Savino of Barrington, was named to the spring's dean's list for academic achievement at Bucknell University, Leedsburg, Pa. Savino is and a graduate of Barrington Community High School, Barrington.
Brad Schmidt, a 2003 graduate of William Fremd High School, graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Loyola University on May 9. Schmidt is the son of Larry Schmidt of Palatine and Deborah Odell of Inverness.
Bradley W. Taylor, son of Bill and Mary Lou Taylor of Bartlett, graduated with a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University's College of Business, in May. Taylor has chosen a career in
the United States Air Force.
Brittany A. Taylor, a 2007 graduate from Bartlett High School, was named to the dean's list, second semester, at Central Michigan University. To be included on the dean's list, a student must have a semester
grade point average of 3.50-3.99.
