Man struck, killed by train in Lisle

Lisle police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old man who was struck and killed early this afternoon by an eastbound Metra commuter train near the depot at 1000 Front St.

Witnesses told police the man laid down on the tracks and was struck and killed by the train just after 12:30 p.m.

Train traffic was halted for a short time and Metra officials told police that delays along the line likely will occur throughout the remainder of the day.
