Miss Huntley to be crowned Saturday
The 2008 Miss Huntley Scholarship Pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Huntley High School auditorium, with several lovely young ladies vying for a $1,500 college scholarship, prizes donated by local merchants and a chance to represent the town in the 2008 Miss McHenry County contest.
This year's runner-up receives a $750 scholarship, and there will be awards for Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality.
The free program, hosted by the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce, also includes dance entertainment and free refreshments.

Members of Class of 1953 sought
Attention graduates of Elgin High School's Class of 1953. If you know a classmate who did not receive an invitation to our 55th anniversary reunion, supply us with their contact information and we will send them an invitation.
There will be a social gathering from 6 to 10 p.m. on Sept. 19, at the Randall Oaks Golf Club.
The 55th anniversary reunion will be held at the Rolling Knolls Country Club from 6 to 11 p.m. Sept. 20.

Shop celebrates 15 year anniversary
The Heavenly Attic Resale Shop at 307 S. Main St., Algonquin, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Parking is available behind the store.
The shop has a variety of items, including holiday items, winter items, books, silk flowers, clothing, housewares, toys, linens, jewelry, videos, magazines and sporting goods.
The Heavenly Attic Resale Shop will celebrate its 15th anniversary. Throughout June the shop will be having several different events to mark its 15th year. Every time you purchase an item, you can fill out a raffle ticket.
