Services set for slain woman, son
Family and friends will say goodbye this week to the Roselle woman and her son who were fatally shot last week at their home.
Visitations for 47-year-old Becky Fontana and her 7-year-old son, Joe, will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Grove Memorial Chapel at 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road in Elk Grove Village.
Services start at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the funeral party proceeding at 11 a.m. to Living Hope Church at 777 Meacham Road in Elk Grove Village. Burial is at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
The mother and son were found Wednesday inside their Roselle house at 746 N. Woodfield Trail by Becky's mother.
Becky's husband and Joe's father -- 60-year-old Mike Fontana -- also was found dead near his son's body, as all three were killed with bullets from a .357-caliber revolver recovered nearby.
An autopsy revealed Thursday that Becky had been shot three times, while Joe was shot four times at point-blank range. Mike died from a single, self-inflicted bullet to the mouth.
Authorities continue to search for a motive and say Mike did not leave a note explaining his actions.
