Barbara Davidson, daughter of Karen and William Davidson of Palatine was the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship award from the Gleaner Life Insurance Society Scholarship Foundation. Davidson, a 2007 Palatine High School graduate, attends the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, majoring in sociology.

• A'Seret Dokubo, daughter of Igoni Dokubo and Teresa Colby-Dokubo of Schaumburg, was named to the Spring 2008 Dean's List at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.908. Dokubo is a sophomore majoring in broadcast journalism.

• Lauren Ann East, daughter of Steven and Eva East of Schaumburg, was named to the Dean's List with honors for the spring 2008 semester at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind. Lauren, a junior, is pursuing a degree in public relations and advertising. She is a graduate of Schaumburg High School.

• Adam Kaeser, son of Roland and Sharon Kaeser of Barrington Hills, was the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship award from the Gleaner Life Insurance Society Scholarship Foundation. Kaeser, a 2008 Barrington High School graduate, will attend Augustana College, Rock Island, as an accounting major.

• Danielle Klosowski of Schaumburg graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mass communication from St. Joseph's College, Rensselaer, Ind. Klosowski was awarded the Trustees' Award for Humanities for superior scholarship and leadership in extracurricular activities in the Mass Communications department; the Dr. James Mignerey Award for outstanding contribution to the department's co-curricular activities of radio, television and theater and service to the college; and the Ralph Cappuccilli Communication and Theatre Arts Award for having the highest grade point average in the department. A 2004 graduate of Hoffman Estates High School, Klosowski is the daughter of Janice and Ken Klosowski of Schaumburg.

• Jon Rektorli, son of Bjorn and Hjordis Rektorli of Inverness, earned an associate of arts degree from Lincoln College, Lincoln, Ill. Rektorli received his degree at the spring commencement ceremony held May 10, on the college campus.

• Tom Schleiter of Schaumburg, a 2004 graduate of St. Viator High School, received a bachelor of philosophy degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, on May 10. His senior capstone thesis "Virtual Reality: The Impact of Recording Technology Over Time" was presented on April 29. A bound copy of his thesis will be kept permanently in the archives of the School of Interdisciplinary Studies/Western College program at the university.

• Carl David Thomas III, son of Carl and Joyce Thomas of Schaumburg, graduated with a bachelor of science degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on May 11. Carl is a 2004 graduate of Hoffman Estates High School.
