Legislators' criticism of oil companies

I get a real kick out of Washington (and local) legislators questioning the oil company executives on their profits. When was the last time a congressman or senator bought their own gas or food that wasn't paid for by a lobbyist or campaign contributor? Congress receives trillions of dollars in taxes every year but manages to run a deficit.

These are the last people that should be telling anyone how to run a business.

Don't forget these are the ones who made the laws requiring different grades of gasoline for every season and continue to raise taxes.

Yes, I do believe the oil companies are taking advantage. They claim to reinvest all the profits but it seems a lot of those profits go to million-dollar salaries and bonuses. If they really reinvested all those profits than we should have more than enough refineries that they claim we are short of.
