Some ECC venues closed on Fridays

The general use facilities at Elgin Community College will be closed Fridays, May 30-Aug. 1.

The Fox Valley University and Business Center, Spartan Events Center and Visual and Performing Arts Center will be open as scheduled.

Registration open for Judson camps

Registration for the Judson University Sports Camps is now open. Soccer, both day and residential; girls' and boys' basketball, volleyball and baseball camps are offered.

Turkish fare raises funds for China

On June 1, members and friends of the Turkish-American community in Chicago will bring Turkish cuisine to Crystal Lake to benefit those hit hardest by the recent earthquakes in China.

Food will be served at the First Congregational Church, 461 Pierson St., Crystal Lake, beginning at 11 a.m. immediately following the 10 a.m. worship service.

Food can be purchased either as a sit-down luncheon in the church's Fellowship Hall, or to carry out and consume at home.

All net proceeds will be contributed to relief efforts in China.

Members and friends of the church will work with their Turkish counterparts to provide the food.
