Military must be top priority again
In all of the years I have been voting in primary and general elections, I have never witnessed such a disgusting primary election as 2008.
The Democratic Party is totally disorganized with two of the most unqualified candidates ever.
Fortunately, being a conservative Republican, I feel Sen. John McCain has the experience to hopefully pull our country together and finish the job we set out to do after we were attacked on 9/11/01.
Yes, fellow Americans, we were attacked and whether the armchair critics or ultra-liberal media like it or not, our president has kept the enemy away from our shores.
I am disgusted with the way President G. W. Bush has been maligned by the media and ruthless Democrats.
We should be grateful he continues to inform the enemy that he means business. His top priority is to defend our country against foreign and domestic enemies.
It is a fact that our military was stripped during the Clinton administration because he loathed the military.
That is the reason for the so-called surplus when he left office in January 2001.
Today our planes are old and not too well maintained. This is deplorable for the greatest airforce in the world.
So it is about time that our military becomes a top priority -- cut back on the entitlement programs and concentrate on what is necessary to win the war on terror before the enemy becomes even more aggressive and directs a nuclear missile at us.
Perhaps, I am on my soap box, but God, country and family have always been a top priority in my life.
Hopefully, all loyal Americans feel the same and will do everything possible to keep America safe so we remain the greatest country on earth.
