Experience the arts at Cuneo
Spread out among the Cuneo Museum's picturesque grounds this weekend will be another sort of beauty -- fine arts, crafts and music.
The Cuneo gardens art festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Cuneo grounds, 1350 Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills.
Displayed throughout the south lawn will be fine arts and crafts created by about 50 artists from across the United States.
The festival will feature paintings including acrylic, oil and watercolor, jewelry, ceramics, fiber, wood, sculpture and more.
Visitors also can listen to live music both days.
Saturday's schedule includes Belladonna Blues from 10 a.m. to noon, Kevin Mileski from 12:20 to 2:30 p.m. and Amanda Crumley from 3 to 6 p.m.
Then on Sunday, come hear Patchouli from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Dayna Malow from 1 to 3 p.m. and the Mick Ducker Duo from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Children can create their own masterpieces at the children's tent. Or view work by artists ages 8 to 17 in the juniors' artists area.
Providing picnic style fare will be Stefani's. Also, Maui Wowi will sell fresh fruit smoothies.
Admission to the festival is free. However, there will be regular fees to take museum tours. The fee is $12 for adults, $11 for seniors and $7 for children.
Museum spokesman Mary Cook said the show, now in its third year, will continue to grow each year just as an audience builds for a theatrical event or a marketplace.
"It has to have time to be known and to be appreciated," she said.
