Stephen Minister honored for being an "Angel"

Linda McCutcheon was recently recognized by other Stephen Ministry participants for spending the last 14 years as a Stephen Ministry Leader at First Congregational Church in Crystal Lake.

The hours of training and unselfish time which McCutcheon donated the last several years is amazing. There are many who have confided in, worked with and trained with her. She will be missed in this extremely important position at FCC. She was given a gift of an Angel, because she is an Angel.

Stephen Ministry is commonly sought out by visitors and residents of the community. Stephen Ministers are committed church members who have completed extensive training for an intentional, one-on-one caring ministry. They provide ongoing confidential care, support and are willing to listen for a brief or extended relationship. The Stephen Ministers meet twice a month for supervision and continued education. Confidentiality is the cornerstone of Stephen Ministry.
