Now, let's get back to eliminating tolls
It is good to learn that the Illinois Tollway Commission is taking action to clear up the confusion caused by the failure of its contracted services to notify toll violators, which has resulted in huge financial distress.
Of course, if the original premise for building the toll system, which was to convert it to freeways after 20 years, had been observed, we wouldn't have these problems.
But that would require Illinois politicians to be honest, forthright and dedicated to the best interests of its citizens. Evidently, that is asking too much.
