Lisle teen charged with burglaries
A 17-year-old Lisle man has been charged with two counts of residential burglary in the village, authorities said today.
Nicholas J. Stafford, of 5927 Oakwood Drive, was taken into custody at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday near his home in the Four Lakes complex, police said.
Police said they believe Stafford was involved in a burglary on Dec. 26 or 27 on the 800 block of Rolling Drive and another on Jan. 8 on the 1000 block of Jonquil Avenue.
In the first incident, residents reported the theft of computer equipment and silverware. In the second, residents said various video game systems were taken.
Police said fingerprint evidence obtained from the scenes linked Stafford to both burglaries.
Residential burglary is a Class 1 felony. A conviction carries a penalty of four to 15 years in prison.
Stafford was being held on $50,000 bond in DuPage County jail.
